Whether you are just starting out with your online business or you are seasoned pro, writing and distributing articles is one of the most effective and low-cost ways to drive lots of targeted traffic to your site. Writing articles and submitting them to the article directories will get you free traffic when people click on the link in your resource box. It is also a great way to improve search engine rankings, since you will have plenty of incoming links to your site. Let’s take a look at how you can get started writing articles. Here are a few tips to get you started.
Write a Top Ten List
An easy way to get started with an article is to come up with a Top Ten List. Find a topic related to your business and jot down ten reasons why someone should purchase your product or offer advice on a topic that’s related to your website. Examples would be top ten ways to get your baby to sleep through the night, top ten reasons to write articles, or top ten reasons to buy car insurance. Once you have your list of ten items, write a little paragraph about each, explaining the reason in a little more detail.

Much has been touted about the effectiveness of article writing in the promotion of their business. While everyone raves about its benefits I’ll look into a few quirks.
1) Too much junk- You can’t even imagine the amount of rehash material that is being passed off as something in which the reader can find valuable. Some writers rush to put out their work putting quantity over quality. It pays to be original when you are into article writing. Well, I have slack up sometimes on this one.
2) Takes Time- Due to the multitude of writers entering this field, it will probably take six months to a year for others to become familiar with you and your writing style. Once this is accomplished you can expect some fans.

1. Select your audience.
2. Try to be brief and clear (300-500 words). DON’T write a topic which you don’t know by yourself.
3. Start your article with a sentence that grabs your reader’s attention. People are bombarded with information on the Internet - they’ll decide whether to read your article in the first sentence. If it intrigues them, if it startles them, if it excites them, if it engages them, if it challenges them, they’ll keep reading.
4. DON’T give your article a feel of sales page.

Writing an editorial article may be one of the most satisfying forms of writing, especially for journalists trained to be objective at all costs. An editorial article can be about anything and from any standpoint. As long as you have an opinion and can support it with facts, you have the makings of an interesting piece.
We all have opinions, right? Yet not all of us are editorial writers and not all editorials are worth reading. What exactly makes an editorial article good — and how do you write one?

Writing has always been a favorite pastime of mine. When I discovered article writing a year ago, the means for expressing myself as well as the ability to share my knowledge with others became possible. This open forum has created a dialogue with my readers, who although unknown to me, create the necessary feedback that drives me to write even more. Moreover, well written and interesting articles can pave the way for much exposure—even to the extent of news related stories and television interviews.
When I started writing articles a year ago, I found a way to express ideas and thoughts that were hovering in my mind for years and even decades. The first ten articles I wrote came out effortlessly. As my fingers pounded the keypad, I watched the computer screen fill with words that were lingering in my head for much time. Of course, after these initial writings, the copious flow stemmed and I needed to work harder to come up with stimulating ideas and reader-worthy content. This difficulty notwithstanding, I forged ahead and continued to try producing articles of a caliber which would earn page views. This task is not always easy to do, but one which is well worth the effort.

Articles are those that are available in plenty these days in the internet. The articles are written by everybody these days and those articles are found to have different types these days. There are scholarly articles that are very informative down to the last number while there are just popular articles that give you information but are not as exhaustive as the scholarly ones. The popular articles can be identified in many ways.
The popular articles are pretty much based on the current topics and are more likely to find place in the magazines and newspapers. They are based on news stories and also magazines. It is important to differentiate between the scholarly articles and the popular press articles. The problem with that while the scholarly articles are very informative, they present only information to the people with the least of interest in the subject, or sometimes have no idea on the subject and the methodology discussed. They are made for by the popular articles that give in information that is only required by the reader. Even in the internet the website owners have recognized this trend and have started to supply only intended information in the form of popular articles.
